Roderick Reynolds and Karen Myers Arrested for Assault and Drug Trafficking

A man and woman were arrested in Decatur after a domestic violence incident led to further charges of drug trafficking. On February 21, at approximately 6:28 a.m., Decatur police responded to a report of an assault at an apartment on Locust St. SE. The victim, Roderick Reynolds’ ex-girlfriend, told officers that Reynolds physically assaulted her. After the incident, Reynolds fled the scene before 911 was called, and police were unable to locate him immediately.

A detective with Decatur’s Criminal Investigative Division investigated the case and discovered that Reynolds had previously trespassed in the victim’s home and assaulted her there. A warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of first-degree domestic violence and burglary.

On February 22, officers found Reynolds at the Studio 9 Motel on Johnston St. SE, accompanied by a woman, Karen Myers. Police also found the pair in possession of approximately 3.25 ounces of synthetic cannabinoids. Reynolds was arrested and booked into Morgan County Jail without bond due to Aniah’s Law. Myers was also arrested on charges of trafficking synthetic cannabinoids and held on a $5,000 bond.
