Rockland Police Arrest Three in Drug Trafficking Bust, Including Homicide Suspect

ROCKLAND, Maine (WABI) – Three individuals were arrested Thursday following a drug trafficking investigation by Rockland Police, including Mark Gagne, 42, who was free on bail while facing charges related to a homicide case in Cushing.

Gagne, who police believe is homeless, was charged with aggravated drug trafficking and violation of conditions of release. He was already facing serious charges in connection with the homicide case, including abuse of a corpse and hindering apprehension.

Police initially pulled over a vehicle for faulty license plates, and during a subsequent search, they reportedly discovered fentanyl, crack cocaine, and prescription pills.

Rachel Winchenbach, 24, and Michelle Leonard, 58, both from Waldoboro, were also arrested. Leonard was reportedly on house arrest for a prior drug trafficking charge, while Winchenbach had an active warrant for a theft charge.
