In a significant win for the 15th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Rochelle Chrisphter Bruno has been convicted on multiple drug charges. An Acadia Parish jury unanimously found Bruno guilty of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, fentanyl, and oxycodone.
District Attorney Don Landry emphasized the dangers of fentanyl, urging parents and community members to educate young people about the risks. He noted that even a small amount of fentanyl can be lethal, especially when mixed with other drugs.
“Many young people are unknowingly ordering drugs online, believing they are receiving something safe like oxycodone. Unfortunately, these drugs are often cut with fentanyl,” Landry explained. He cautioned that drug dealers are not chemists and may not know the precise ingredients they are adding, posing severe risks to users.
Landry called on the community to be vigilant, especially youth, advising against accepting drugs from friends at parties due to the potential for dangerous additives. He commended law enforcement for their diligent efforts in tackling drug trafficking in the area.
