BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – Two men have been arrested, and $180,000 worth of narcotics seized following a major drug bust, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrests occurred on March 20, when deputies conducted a traffic stop near Loop 410 South as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking.
Authorities say Robert Gomez III, 34, was found in possession of four gallon-sized bags of crystal methamphetamine, along with a suspected bag of heroin and a .38 caliber pistol. He was taken into custody without incident.
Deputies also arrested Juan Bustamante, 42, who was seen leaving a residence with a bag before meeting Gomez. When deputies approached, Bustamante attempted to flee, discarding a bag containing eight additional gallon-sized bags of crystal meth. He was later apprehended with assistance from a K-9 unit.
Following the arrests, investigators searched Gomez’s home and business, uncovering a money counter and packaging materials, indicating a large-scale drug trafficking operation.

Both Gomez and Bustamante are documented gang members, according to the sheriff’s office.
