Robert Asbury Arrested for Armed Robbery in Morton, Illinois

Morton, Ill. — The Morton Police Department has arrested 55-year-old Robert Asbury from Creve Coeur in connection with an armed robbery that took place on December 1 at the Dollar Tree store located at 1010 W. Jefferson St.

Asbury, who was taken into custody on Wednesday, faces charges including armed robbery, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, retail theft, and a warrant for a parole violation.

The Morton Police Department had earlier asked the public for help in identifying the suspect, and law enforcement agencies, including the Creve Coeur Police Department, Peoria Police Department, and Peoria Sheriff’s Office, assisted in the investigation.

Asbury’s arrest concludes the search for the suspect in this case.
