Robert Allen and Anthony Hays Arrested on Drug Charges

Two residents from Odin, Robert Allen, 58, and Anthony Hays, 34, were arrested on multiple drug-related charges following a traffic stop and an attempted escape on foot.

The Sandoval Police initiated the stop on Allen after observing him failing to signal and knowing that he was driving with a suspended license. The stop occurred on Main Street when Allen allegedly pulled into a driveway and remained by the vehicle, leading to his arrest by Junction City Police. Hays, the passenger, fled on foot, triggering a chase with a Sandoval officer that wound through several buildings and into a field. While running, Hays discarded a package later identified as containing drugs. The pursuit ended when Hays surrendered shortly after being tased by officers.

Both Allen and Hays face charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of under five grams of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Additionally, Allen is charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license, while Hays faces charges of resisting arrest.

During the search, officers recovered fentanyl, a narcotic drug, and methamphetamine from the vehicle.

The Sandoval Police Department emphasized their ongoing effort to curb speeding and target individuals involved in drug-related activities.
