A man from Roanoke County, Ryan Wheeler Wallace, has been arrested in connection with several burglaries that occurred in multiple counties in Virginia. According to the Bedford Police Department, the investigation began in January 2025 when a commercial business in Bedford reported a burglary. Surveillance footage showed an unknown suspect at the scene, which led to a joint investigation by Bedford Police, Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, and Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives were able to connect Wallace to several other burglaries in neighboring counties. In February 2025, a similar burglary was reported in Roanoke County, where surveillance footage revealed the same suspect. The investigation expanded to include other law enforcement agencies, including those in Northern Virginia, as similar crimes had occurred in their jurisdictions as well.
A search warrant was executed at Wallace’s residence in Roanoke County, and stolen items from the burglaries were recovered. Wallace was arrested and charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors related to the burglaries, with additional charges potentially forthcoming.
The Bedford Police Department expressed gratitude for the collaborative effort of the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office, Roanoke County Police Department, Roanoke City Police Department, Salem Police Department, Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, and Fairfax County Police Department in solving the case.
