LUBBOCK, Texas – Rickay Jewel Smith, 30, was arrested on February 28, 2025, in connection with a 2024 home robbery in Lubbock. She faces three counts of aggravated robbery and one count of burglary of habitation.
Smith was apprehended at Comal County Jail on a local warrant and later transferred to Lubbock County Jail.
According to the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), deputies responded to a robbery call on June 15, 2024, at a residence in the 1800 block of 114th Street. Victims reported that Smith, Romeo Thomas, 37, and an unidentified accomplice broke in through the back door while the residents were asleep.
The intruders held a victim at gunpoint and ransacked the house, stealing a wallet, a laptop, a printer, a phone, and $4,000 worth of tools. One victim’s birth certificate and ID card were also taken. Before leaving, Thomas destroyed the victim’s phone to prevent them from calling for help.
Smith’s alleged accomplice, Romeo Thomas, was previously arrested twice in 2024 and faced new charges in January 2025.
Smith remains in custody as investigations continue.
