Richard Croft Arrested in Connection with Brown County Burglaries

BROWN COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) — The Brown County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating a series of burglaries and thefts in the southeast part of the county. After gathering information from a joint investigation, law enforcement officials executed a search warrant in Jefferson County that led to the arrest of 42-year-old Richard Croft from Atchison.

Croft was taken into custody on multiple charges, including three felony counts of burglary, one felony count of theft, and two misdemeanor counts of theft in relation to crimes committed in Brown County. The search warrant resulted in the recovery of stolen property linked to the burglaries.

The investigation, which was a coordinated effort between the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, the Valley Falls Police Chief, and several other agencies, including the Troy Police, Doniphan County Sheriff’s Office, and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, continues.

Authorities have stated that more information will be released as the investigation progresses.
