Richard Carlson Arrested After Resisting Arrest and Stolen Vehicle in Colorado Springs

A man was arrested in Colorado Springs on Friday morning after attempting to resist arrest when caught in a stolen vehicle. According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of West Monument Street at 2:28 a.m., where they found a man inside a vehicle that had been reported stolen.

The suspect, later identified as 39-year-old Richard Carlson, attempted to flee the scene when officers tried to make an arrest. Despite officers’ attempts to subdue Carlson with a Taser and OC spray, he continued to resist and even punched one officer in the face.

Carlson was eventually apprehended and taken into custody. He is facing multiple charges, including assaulting an officer, motor vehicle theft, and resisting arrest.
