Murray, KY – Rhonda L. Cathey, 56, and Jeff S. Richardson, 58, both from Murray, were arrested on drug-related charges after deputies from the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) executed a search warrant on Monday night.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., deputies arrived at a residence on Off Shore Drive to serve an arrest warrant for Richardson. Though no one answered the door, deputies observed movement inside. Upon entering, they encountered both Cathey and Richardson, leading to a brief struggle before the two were taken into custody.
During the booking process at the jail, Cathey was found to be in possession of illicit drugs. Richardson’s arrest stemmed from a narcotics trafficking investigation that began in February 2025.
Cathey has been charged with second-degree hindering prosecution, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, and promoting contraband. Richardson faces charges of resisting arrest and multiple drug-related offenses, including first-degree trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
