Ravi Shankar Ojha Arrested for Dubai Travel Package Scam

The Crime Branch of Indore Police arrested Ravi Shankar Ojha, a man accused of duping people with fake Dubai travel packages. Ojha, originally from Jharkhand, was apprehended from Gurugram in the Delhi NCR region after a victim lodged a complaint detailing the loss of around Rs 10 lakh.

Ojha, an MBA graduate and employee at a property investment company, used his professional knowledge and network to lure individuals with promises of flights, visas, and hotel bookings to Dubai. However, after receiving significant payments from victims, he failed to deliver any travel arrangements or provide refunds.

The investigation revealed that Ojha had a history of similar fraudulent activities across various cities in India. To evade detection, he frequently changed his SIM cards and phones, moving across states while maintaining minimal contact with victims. Ojha admitted to collaborating with others in Uttar Pradesh under the guise of “Rozzy Travels,” a fake travel agency, to carry out his scams. He also confessed to using 40-50 different mobile numbers to execute his schemes.

Ojha had been previously incarcerated in Chhattisgarh for similar offenses. Police are now expanding the investigation to track down his accomplices and are working with other state units, including Lucknow, where additional fraud cases are linked to him. Authorities have filed multiple charges against Ojha under sections 409, 420, 467, and 468 of the Indian Penal Code
