Police have arrested two more individuals in connection with an electrical equipment theft case, authorities confirmed on Sunday.
The suspects, identified as Rashid from Shekhupura Colony and Dilshaad from Housing Board Colony, were apprehended by the police’s crime branch. The arrests followed the detainment of six other individuals on Friday, who had provided critical information about the theft ring. Rashid and Dilshaad, both scrap dealers, are accused of purchasing the stolen electrical materials.
So far, authorities have recovered approximately 200 kg of stolen aluminium wire and iron plates, Rs 16,700 in cash, and the tools and vehicle used in the thefts.
The investigation began after a complaint was filed on December 26 by officials from Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, reporting the theft of electrical equipment near Dudhola village.
