Rapper Ronald Cobbs, also known as Lil Ron and Reverend Bankroll, Jr., was sentenced to 170 months (nearly 14 years) in federal prison for methamphetamine trafficking. The 39-year-old from Jackson, Mississippi, was convicted for distributing over 37 grams of meth at his t-shirt business located in North Mart Plaza.
Cobbs pled guilty in February 2024 after being indicted by a federal grand jury for possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine. The investigation that led to his conviction was part of an extensive effort by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, and Ridgeland Police Department.
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Anessa Daniels-McCaw of the DEA made the announcement. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Keesha Middleton as part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation. OCDETF targets top-tier drug traffickers, gangs, and criminal organizations threatening the U.S. with its multi-agency approach.
