Raphael Baker Cleared, Raymond Collymore-Lloyd Gets House Arrest in Sarnia Drug Case

A Toronto-area man has been sentenced to house arrest following a $25,000 drug bust in Sarnia nearly three years ago, while his co-accused has been cleared of all charges.

The Investigation & Raid
The Sarnia police vice unit began investigating a group of Toronto men in November 2021, suspecting them of trafficking large amounts of drugs into the city. Authorities identified a stash house on Arnold Street in Wallaceburg, which had no furniture or appliances, and linked two vehicles—a silver Ford Focus and a white Hyundai Elantra—to the operation.

On March 19, 2022, around 5 a.m., police raided the house and vehicles, arresting Raphael Baker, 23, from Toronto, and Raymond Collymore-Lloyd, 21, from Ajax. Officers discovered 124 grams of cocaine (worth approximately $15,000) and $10,000 in cash.

Court Proceedings & Sentencing
Both Baker and Collymore-Lloyd were charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. However, after three years in court, Baker’s charges were dropped, while Collymore-Lloyd pleaded guilty to trafficking and received a one-year conditional sentence, including:

4 months of house arrest
4 months under curfew
4 months with relaxed conditions
GPS tracking
No drug or alcohol use
No contact with Baker
Collymore-Lloyd’s lawyer, Adele Monaco, emphasized that her client, now 24, had no prior offenses, had been under strict bail conditions, and had since graduated college and started a logistics business.

Federal prosecutor Brian Higgins acknowledged that trafficking over 100 grams of cocaine is a serious offense but felt the sentence was appropriate given Collymore-Lloyd’s rehabilitation and low risk to public safety.

With the case officially closed, Collymore-Lloyd now looks to move forward, while Baker walks free.
