Rameshwar Pratap Singh Arrested in Human Trafficking Racket

The city crime branch is investigating a human trafficking syndicate that allegedly trafficked over 80 individuals from Gujarat to countries including Canada, London, and Turkey. On Friday, authorities arrested Rameshwar Pratap Singh (53), a Mira Road resident employed by VJet Vietnam Airlines, for his involvement in facilitating the illegal operation. Singh is accused of helping the traffickers by providing forged documents for international travel.

The Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) arrested Singh after uncovering his name during the examination of mobile phones belonging to a co-accused, Ajit Puri. Singh was brought before the holiday court on Friday and remanded to police custody. Investigations are ongoing, and police are now on the lookout for another suspect, Rajesh Panchal.

This arrest follows last week’s capture of Roshad Dudhwadkar, Ajit Puri, and Imtiaz Shaikh, all of whom are also allegedly involved in the racket.
