Ram Bahadur Khanal Arrested in Surya Darshan Fraud Case

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has apprehended Ram Bahadur Khanal, a shareholder of Gorkha Group of Companies Limited, for his alleged involvement in the misappropriation of funds from Surya Darshan Savings and Credit Cooperative.

Khanal was arrested on Friday in Panipokhari, Kathmandu. He also serves as the director of Nature Herbs International Pvt Ltd. According to police reports, the investigation revealed that funds from the cooperative had been unlawfully transferred to Nature Herbs.

GB Rai is identified as the main operator of both institutions involved in the case. Notably, former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane is currently in custody in connection with the Surya Darshan Cooperative fraud case.

Khanal has been sent to the District Police Office in Kaski for further investigation, as the CIB continues to unravel the complexities of this financial scandal.
