Rajkot TPO Mansukh Sagathia Arrested for Corruption: ₹5 Crore Cash Seized

Rajkot Town Planning Officer (TPO) Mansukh Sagathia, already under scrutiny by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for possessing properties beyond his declared income, faced a significant setback when authorities discovered Rs5 crore in cash and 15 kg of gold at his office.

The ACB found the gold and cash in Sagathia’s sealed office, with sources suggesting that additional valuables may be uncovered once locked compartments are accessed.

Sagathia was arrested by the Rajkot Crime Branch following the tragic fire incident on May 25, which claimed 28 lives. His troubles escalated after the ACB conducted raids at three locations linked to him, leading to a case of disproportionate assets worth Rs10.55 crore being filed against him. This investigation prompted his suspension.

The ACB initiated legal proceedings against Sagathia when it was determined that his assets—including a gas agency, a petrol pump, and a bungalow—exceeded his income by an astonishing 410%.
