A major drug bust took place in the Sarafa area on Thursday when police arrested Farukh Khan, a man from Jhalawar, Rajasthan, in possession of MD drugs valued at Rs 95 lakh. Authorities believe Khan was en route to deliver the drugs to various locations, including other states.
This is not the first time Khan has been implicated in drug trafficking. On October 16, two individuals, Paras Basod and Rinku Chowdhary, were arrested in the city with MD drugs worth Rs 50 lakh. Khan is believed to have provided the drugs to both of them.
Under the leadership of DCP Rishikesh Meena and Additional DCP (Zone-4) Anand Yadav, a team from Sarafa police apprehended Khan near the Rajwada area after receiving a tip-off. Police discovered two packets of MD drugs, totaling 989 grams, along with approximately 1.7 kilograms of poppy husk. In addition to the drugs, police seized Khan’s bike and two mobile phones.
During questioning, Khan revealed that he had previously supplied drugs to Paras Basod and Rinku Chowdhary. The police team had already arrested these two individuals on October 16. As part of the ongoing investigation, a police team was dispatched to Jhalawar to trace the drug network. Their efforts led to the successful capture of Khan and further questioning of all involved parties continues.
The authorities are now working to dismantle the wider drug trafficking network that Khan is linked
