A 52-year-old man from Raeford is facing multiple felony charges for allegedly using a stolen credit card at various businesses.
Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis reported that fraudulent activity involving the stolen credit card occurred between July 8-10. Rodney McCrimmon was identified as the suspect in this investigation.
Aberdeen Patrol Officers and Investigators gathered video surveillance from over a dozen businesses within the city limits, which helped in the investigation. It was also determined that the stolen credit card had been used in Southern Pines and Raeford. On July 18, 2024, investigators identified McCrimmon as the suspect, and on July 19, they obtained warrants for his arrest on 14 counts, including felony obtain property by false pretense, felony identity theft, felony financial card theft, and felony financial card fraud.
McCrimmon was arrested for his outstanding warrants on July 23 and is currently held at the Moore County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
