Punta Gorda Man Arrested for Stealing $30K in Marijuana

Punta Gorda, FL – A 23-year-old Punta Gorda man was arrested after allegedly stealing $30,000 worth of marijuana and merchandise from the Curaleaf dispensary on Kings Highway.

On September 27, Charlotte County deputies responded to a burglary at the dispensary just before 3 a.m., where it was apparent someone had forced their way through the back door. After reviewing security footage, deputies identified the suspect as Tyrese Jackson, who was seen wearing a mask and gloves, and using stolen tools to pry open the door.

Investigators later discovered that Jackson’s tools and clothing, still bearing Walmart tags, had also been stolen. The following day, deputies arrested Jackson during a traffic stop and found multiple Curaleaf packages at his home, confirming his involvement in the theft.

Jackson is facing charges for burglary and theft.
