In a major breakthrough, Raj Ravindra Walhe, a suspect involved in a significant financial fraud, was arrested by the Pune Crime Branch Unit 6. Walhe was wanted for stealing Rs6.5 lakh from a Mumbai-based advertising company, Finveen Advertising, and had been on the run since the incident occurred on October 22, 2024.
Walhe, who was employed at Finveen Advertising Company on Andheri-Kurla Road in Mumbai, was tasked with depositing Rs6.5 lakh in cash at the bank. However, he absconded with the money, and the company’s manager promptly reported the theft. A case was subsequently registered at the MIDC Police Station in Mumbai.
Upon receiving confidential information about Walhe’s whereabouts, Assistant Police Inspectors Madan Kamble, Rishikesh Takwane, and Sachin Pawar, along with their team, launched a series of searches at local lodges in Pune. Their efforts culminated in Walhe’s arrest at Parag Lodge in Chacha Halwai Chowk, Nana Peth, Pune.
During the arrest, the police successfully recovered Rs4.5 lakh of the stolen funds from Walhe. The accused, along with the recovered money, was handed over to the MIDC Police Station in Mumbai for further legal proceedings.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Shailesh Balakwade, Upper Commissioner of Police Crime, and Nikhil Pingle, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime, highlighting the police force’s commitment to swiftly addressing financial crimes and ensuring justice for victims.
