Pune Police Arrest Mohit Dhami for Rs 4.8 Lakh Army Job Scam

In a significant operation, Pune police, in collaboration with Military Intelligence, arrested Mohit Dhami from Uttarakhand for allegedly defrauding two individuals out of Rs 4.8 lakh by falsely promising them employment in the Indian Army.

Dhami is accused of exploiting the victims’ desire for Army jobs, convincing them that he had the influence to secure positions for them despite their not meeting the required age criteria for recruitment. He claimed to be an employee at the Army Command Hospital in Pune, further enhancing his fabricated credibility.

The scam was brought to light by a 23-year-old complainant from Dhule, Maharashtra, who revealed the deception. Initially, Dhami demanded Rs 5,000 from each victim, but the total swindle eventually amounted to Rs 4.8 lakh. Upon realizing the fraud, the victims reported the matter to the police.

Dhami has been charged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (Indian Penal Code), and further investigations into his activities are ongoing.
