Pune Police Arrest Mayur Anant Dere in Two-Wheeler Theft and Burglary Case

In a significant breakthrough, the Vishram Bagh Police in Pune have arrested a notorious innkeeper involved in a series of two-wheeler thefts and burglaries, solving seven criminal cases across Pune district. The accused, identified as Mayur Anant Dere, aged 35, from Kasba Peth, Pune, was taken into custody after a detailed investigation and technical analysis led by the police team.

The case began when a complainant reported the theft of his motorcycle, which had been parked outside Rebel Food, Cloud Kitchen in Shaniwar Peth between 2:00 am and 9:00 am. Based on the complaint, Senior Police Inspector Vijaymala Pawar ordered a thorough investigation, which was spearheaded by Sub-Inspector Manoj Barure.

The police, utilizing technical analysis and confidential tips, were able to identify Dere as the main suspect. Further investigation revealed his involvement in several other thefts, both in Pune City and the rural areas of the Pune district. The authorities recovered stolen items worth Rs2.23 lakh, including three motorcycles, two televisions, two mobile phones, and an HP laptop.

The successful operation was carried out under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Upper Commissioner of Police Praveen Kumar Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandip Singh Gill, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Sainath Thombare. Senior Inspector Vijaymala Pawar, Inspector Arun Ghodke (Crime), and Deputy Inspector Manoj Barure, along with the entire investigation team, played a pivotal role in bringing the case to a close.
