In a swift and commendable operation, the Bundgarden Police Station’s investigation team successfully arrested the accused involved in the murder of Kamlesh Jetharam Mewad, a man from Rajasthan. The missing person report was filed by Jetharam Mewad, Kamlesh’s father, on February 20, 2025, after his son went missing. Tragically, Kamlesh’s body was later found murdered and buried on a farm near Soghat City, Rajasthan. Upon identification, it was confirmed that the body belonged to Kamlesh.
Further investigation into the case revealed that Kamlesh’s wife, Sukhidevi Kamlesh Mewad (30), and her lover, Ashok Kaluram Rathod (25), had conspired to kill Kamlesh. As the investigation unfolded, police officers tracked the whereabouts of the suspects, who were hiding near Pune railway station.
With specific tips, the team, led by Police Inspector Swapnil Lohar, along with Constables Gyaneshwar Bade and Gyaneshwar Gaikwad, located the suspects in Jayprakash Garden, near Pune Station. After questioning, both Sukhidevi and Ashok admitted to their involvement in the murder and were subsequently taken into custody.
The investigation received support from Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Ranjan Kumar Sharma, and Assistant Commissioner Pravin Kumar Patil. The Bundgarden Police Station will now transfer the suspects to Soghat City Police in Rajasthan for further legal proceedings.
