Pueblo County Man Arrested for Burglary and Theft of Copper Pipes

Early Friday morning, Pueblo County deputies arrested Ramiro Peran, 51, following a burglary report from a homeowner in the 1100 block of San Mateo Street. The homeowner, alerted by her security camera, saw Peran entering her home and immediately contacted authorities.

Deputies arrived and surrounded the property, calling out to Peran multiple times before he eventually emerged through a crawl space in the basement. Peran was taken into custody without incident.

An investigation revealed that Peran had been attempting to steal copper piping from the home, causing extensive damage. Deputies also discovered multiple credit cards on Peran that did not belong to him, indicating possible further criminal activities.

Peran now faces multiple charges, including theft, second-degree burglary, criminal mischief, criminal possession of identification documents, and possession of four or more financial devices. The incident underscores ongoing efforts by local authorities to address property crimes and protect homeowners.
