Priyadarshan Mishra and Jhantu Shaw Arrested for Fake Lottery Tickets in Kulti

Kulti Police have arrested two individuals, Priyadarshan Mishra and Jhantu Shaw, for allegedly selling fake lottery tickets in the Monberia area near the Bengal-Jharkhand border.

Acting on a tip-off, the Barakar Police Outpost and Kulti police station, under the Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate (ADPC), jointly raided a house in Sukantapally (Ward 68) and apprehended the two suspects. During the raid, printing machines used to produce fake lottery tickets were seized.

The arrested individuals will be presented before the Asansol Court tomorrow, where they will be taken on police remand for further investigations, according to Sandeep Karra, ADCP (West) of Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate.

This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by ADPC cops to curb illegal activities across police station areas, with several arrests made on various charges in recent days. The state government has been losing significant revenue due to the illegal sale of fake lottery tickets in parts of West Burdwan district.
