Police on Wednesday announced that they had cracked the murder case of Jitan Sahni, the father of Bihar VIP party leader Mukesh Sahni, with the arrest of the prime accused. Qazim Ansari, aged 40, has confessed to his involvement in the crime.
Earlier in the day, police detained four individuals, including Qazim Ansari, for questioning in relation to the murder investigation. According to the police, Qazim Ansari, a resident of Supaul Bazar, had borrowed Rs 1.5 lakh from Jitan Sahni against a piece of land. However, Ansari was unable to repay the debt or reclaim the land, which led to a dispute.
Ansari revealed during interrogation that on the night between Monday and Tuesday, he, along with his associates, entered Jitan Sahni’s house to demand the land documents. When Jitan Sahni refused to hand over the documents, Ansari attacked him, stabbing him with the help of his associates.
A case has been filed against Qazim Ansari and his accomplices, and the police are continuing their search to apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the crime.
