PRATTVILLE, AL – The Prattville Police Department began investigating a significant identity theft and fraudulent credit card usage case on September 3, 2024. The suspects allegedly used a Guardian Credit Union member’s stolen credit card information to create a fake debit card, allowing them to withdraw a total of $190,250 from locations in Prattville and Montgomery.
On September 6, 2024, another victim reported a similar incident, where $73 was withdrawn from their Guardian Credit Union account by the same suspects on September 1, 2024.
On September 8, 2024, Prattville officers identified the suspects—Eric Kendrie Shuler, 29, Matthew Tizlam Bey, 31, and Kyara Ivelisse Rosario-Berenguer, 28—while they were withdrawing funds at Guardian Credit Union on Main Street in Prattville. The suspects attempted to flee, leading to a vehicle pursuit that ended in Montgomery, AL, after the suspects’ car crashed.
Upon arrest, Eric Shuler resisted officers, resulting in injury to one Prattville officer. The suspects were found to be from Brooklyn, NY (Shuler and Bey) and Reading, PA (Rosario-Berenguer). They were taken into custody and transported to the Autauga County Metro Jail, where they are under investigative hold as the case continues. Further updates will be provided as the investigation develops.
