Cocaine Seized at Calgary Airport, Suspect Arrested
A traveller from British Columbia was arrested in Calgary last month after border officers discovered several kilograms of cocaine hidden inside his luggage during a layover.
On November 17, 2024, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers conducted a search on luggage from a commercial flight en route to the United Kingdom. Inside, they uncovered 12 kilograms of compressed cocaine, along with a tracking device.
The alleged owner of the bag, 29-year-old Justin Harry Carl Beck from Port Coquitlam, B.C., was arrested by CBSA agents before he could board his connecting flight to London’s Heathrow Airport.
Following a thorough investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies, Beck has been charged with the exportation of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to traffic.
