Pontotoc Woman Arrested for $25,000 Embezzlement

A 51-year-old woman from Pontotoc has been charged with felony embezzlement after being accused of stealing $25,000 from her employer.

According to a press release from the Tupelo Police Department, officers were called after the business owner reported that an employee had written multiple checks to a family member. These checks, totaling approximately $25,000, were allegedly stolen by the employee.

After further investigation, Lola Knight, the employee in question, was arrested on February 10, 2025, and charged with one count of felony embezzlement. Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir set her bond at $5,000.

The case is set to be presented to a Lee County Grand Jury for further proceedings.
