In a relentless crackdown against the illegal drug trade, the Salem Tabri police have made multiple arrests over the past 24 hours, seizing various banned substances from the suspects. The operation underscores the authorities’ commitment to curbing drug trafficking in the region.
The Salem Tabri police have registered a case against Satnam Singh, a resident of Bhattiyan, under the NDPS Act. Singh was apprehended near Blessing Medical Hall on Bhora Road, with the police seizing 45 tramadol hydrochloride tablets and USP Clovidol 100 SR tablets from his possession.
In another incident, Haibowal police arrested Rohit (from Walia Colony) and Rahul Kumar (from New Maya Nagar) on March 12 near a temple in Joshi Nagar. The two suspects were found carrying a plastic bag, which aroused the officers’ suspicion. Upon checking, the police seized 85 grams of heroin from their possession. The suspects were immediately placed under police custody.
Jamalpur police also arrested Yogesh Kumar, a resident of Sarpanch Colony Jamalpur, and Buta Singh, a resident of Singha di Salaudi, following a raid at Mundiyan Kalan Chowk. Police recovered 56 grams of drug powder, 35 plastic bags, and a Honda Activa scooter. The suspects were allegedly on their way to distribute the drugs to their customers.
Lastly, the Koom Kalan police initiated a search operation after receiving a tip-off about Amit Kumar from Koom Kalan, who was reportedly involved in drug dealing. When police raided his residence, they found 310 tablets of Clovidol 100 SR and 86 Pregabalin capsules. However, the suspect managed to flee and is currently absconding.
These arrests and drug seizures are part of a broader effort to combat illegal narcotic trafficking in the region, with law enforcement continuing to investigate and monitor suspect activities.
