Police Arrest Micheal Uke for Vehicle Theft in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has apprehended a suspect, Micheal Uke, in connection with a stolen vehicle. According to a statement released on Sunday by the FCT police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, the vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, was found in Uke’s possession at a guest inn located in the Jabi area of Abuja.

The vehicle had been stolen at gunpoint on May 2, 2024, along the Kuje-Airport road. Acting on a tip-off and using advanced digital reconstruction technology, FCT police operatives traced the stolen car to Ifego Guest Inn in Jabi, where it was being kept by Uke.

Authorities discovered that the suspect had changed the vehicle’s original registration number from ABC 258 LD to AGD 146 JP. Upon further investigation, officers found a point-of-sale (POS) machine, a knife, chemicals for dissolving glass, a military jungle hat, and the original registration number of the car.

The investigation is still ongoing, with FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh, praising the officers for their swift action in ensuring the protection of citizens’ property.
