Pine Bluff Man Arrested for Multiple GameStop Thefts in Jonesboro and Paragould

A Pine Bluff man, Robert Ankston, 37, has been arrested and is facing multiple theft charges in connection with two thefts at GameStop stores in Jonesboro and Paragould. The incidents occurred on May 25, 2024, when Ankston, along with two other suspects, allegedly stole merchandise from the GameStop located at 1810 E. Highland Drive in Jonesboro.

According to the probable cause affidavit, three males entered the store around 1:08 PM and concealed multiple items, leaving the store without paying just 15 minutes later. They departed the scene in a GMC Yukon.

Following the Jonesboro theft, the same individuals allegedly proceeded to a GameStop in Paragould, where they once again stole several items. While two of the suspects successfully fled on foot, Ankston was apprehended. Police later recovered the stolen property from the bright blue GMC Yukon the suspects had been using.

Detective Madison Dobbs of the Jonesboro Police Department tracked the vehicle using intersection cameras, which revealed the blue Yukon entering the GameStop parking lot in Jonesboro at 1:07 PM and leaving shortly after. The cameras further confirmed the vehicle traveled toward Paragould, where Ankston was eventually arrested by the Paragould Police Department.

Ankston was arrested and charged with theft in Greene County, and on July 5, he was transferred to Craighead County to face additional felony charges. He had his probable cause hearing in Craighead County on July 8, where bond was set at $30,000.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
