Petaluma police arrested two suspects on Thursday after they allegedly stole a cart full of grocery items from a local business. The suspects, Dylan Beck, 29, and Hanna Fredrickson, 32, both of Petaluma, were caught after fleeing the scene.
Officers were alerted to the theft at Grocery Outlet and pursued the suspects based on a provided license plate number. Their search led them to a residence on Chileno Valley Road, where they arrested Beck and Fredrickson, recovering the stolen items.
Fredrickson faces charges of felony probation violation, theft under $950, and conspiracy, while Beck, already on parole, was charged with parole violation, conspiracy, and theft with prior convictions. Due to Beck’s two previous theft convictions, he now faces felony charges under California’s newly passed Prop 36, which increases punishments for repeat offenders.
This arrest marks the first case in Petaluma under the changes brought by Prop 36. Both suspects are currently being held without bail.
