Pedro Pablo Duran-Quintero and Alexander Hamann-Larner Arrested in Drug Bust

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A months-long drug investigation led by the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office (NHSO) culminated in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of illegal drugs and firearms.

Detectives confiscated over 300 pressed fentanyl pills, valued at approximately $4,500 on the street, alongside 7 grams of cocaine, 270 grams of marijuana, and two firearms.

Pedro Pablo Duran-Quintero, 35, faces several charges, including five counts of trafficking fentanyl, two counts each of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver (PWIMSD) a Schedule I controlled substance, and manufacturing a Schedule I controlled substance. He also faces charges for maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of selling drugs and possessing drugs near schools and parks. Duran-Quintero is being held at the New Hanover County Detention Center under a $1.3 million bond.

Alexander Daniel Hamann-Larner, 28, was also arrested on multiple charges, including PWIMSD cocaine and marijuana, as well as manufacturing cocaine, marijuana, and maintaining a dwelling for drug use. He is also accused of drug offenses near a school. Hamann-Larner was initially held on a $500,000 bond but has since posted bond.

Both arrests are part of an ongoing effort by the sheriff’s office to address illegal drug activity in the region.
