PATTAYA – In a shocking robbery on Tuesday, Masis Erkol, a 36-year-old Turkish investor in stocks and cryptocurrency, was left bound and robbed of his assets worth approximately 10 million baht. The crime took place in a condominium on Soi Wat Bun Kanchanaram, where Erkol was left tied up with wire wrapped around his hands and ankles.
According to the police, Erkol managed to escape and hopped from his room to find help from a security guard. The victim reported that the culprits had stolen about 9.9 million baht in cryptocurrency and a laptop.
CCTV footage showed a suspect, who was also Turkish, drinking coffee at a shop near the victim’s condominium the day before the robbery. The same suspect was seen heading towards the building shortly before the crime occurred. While one suspect has fled Thailand, two others are still believed to be hiding in the country, and the police are working diligently to apprehend them.
Further investigation has also brought in Erkol’s former girlfriend for questioning, as part of the ongoing effort to identify the individuals behind this high-value crime.
The police continue to search for leads in the case, hoping to resolve the situation and bring the suspects to justice.
