Patrick Carson Arrested for Drug Possession During Traffic Stop in Crescent City

CRESCENT CITY, Calif. — Patrick Carson, 58, of Crescent City, was arrested on Sunday night after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of illegal drugs and weapons.

The Crescent City Police Department (CCPD) initiated the traffic stop around 10:30 p.m. after noticing Carson’s vehicle was operating without taillights. Upon contacting Carson, officers found that he did not have a valid driver’s license, lacked insurance, and had expired vehicle tags.

During the stop, Sgt. Murtaugh performed an air sniff test, which led to a positive alert for drugs. A search of Carson’s vehicle uncovered .1oz of liquid meth, 1.56 grams of meth, and 2lbs 9.5oz of marijuana. In addition, officers found a shuriken, commonly known as a throwing star.

Further investigation revealed that Carson was also in possession of 5.64 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, which were located on his person after his arrest.

Carson was arrested and booked into the Del Norte County Jail on charges related to drug possession and weapons. The investigation continues as authorities assess the extent of Carson’s involvement in drug-related activities.
