Patricia Ann Hamlin Arrested for Identity Theft and Forgery in PA

Hamlin Faces Multiple Charges for Fraudulent Parking Permits

by Sophia Bennett

LAKE ARIEL, PA — Patricia Ann Hamlin, 59, of Lake Ariel, has been arrested and charged with several crimes, including identity theft and forgery, after creating fraudulent parking permits in Wayne County. The charges also include tampering with records, disorderly conduct, and unauthorized acts in writing.

The investigation began after a complaint was filed by The Hideout Property Owners Association Public Safety Department. On January 22, 2025, a Public Safety Officer found an overturned vehicle within The Hideout, and upon investigation, discovered multiple fraudulent parking permits on the road. These permits were copied onto an incorrect paper stock and listed the name of an employee who had not worked at The Hideout since September 2024.

Hamlin was later contacted by Detective Michael McMorrow, who learned that she had been using these permits because her gate access device had been deactivated due to unpaid HOA fees. Hamlin admitted to using the forged permits to bypass public safety protocols.

Hamlin is scheduled for a court appearance on February 19, 2025, at the Wayne County Courthouse.
