Panchkula Police Arrest Drug Smuggler Charan Singh, Seizes 540 Alprazolam Tablets

The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Panchkula Police has arrested a drug smuggler and recovered 540 Alprazolam tablets from his possession. The arrested individual has been identified as Charan Singh (39), alias Sonu, a resident of Tipra village in Kalka.

According to police officials, a tip-off led them to Charan Singh, who was allegedly involved in the smuggling and distribution of banned drugs. The police received information that he would be near the government school in Tipra village, and a police team was dispatched to the location. Upon arriving, they surrounded the area and arrested Singh.

During interrogation and a subsequent search, the police recovered 540 Alprazolam tablets, which are classified as controlled substances under the NDPS Act.

A case has been registered against Singh under Section 22A of the NDPS Act at the Kalka police station. Following his arrest, Singh was produced before a local court, which sent him to two-day police remand for further investigation.
