Palm Beach Jail Kitchen Staffer Tim’Neque Rooks Arrested for Contraband

Authorities in Palm Beach County have charged Tim’Neque Rooks, 25, a kitchen staff member at the West Detention Center, with introducing contraband after an inmate was found posting on Facebook from behind bars.

Discovery of the Contraband Phone
On November 2, 2024, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) discovered an inmate at the West Detention Center in Belle Glade using social media inside the facility.

Upon questioning, the inmate admitted that Rooks had provided him with a phone, allegedly to contact his cousin for a post-release pickup. He also used the device to make FaceTime calls.

Investigation & Alleged Romantic Involvement
When confronted, Rooks initially claimed that she had accidentally left her phone unattended, allowing the inmate to use it without permission.

However, a review of the inmate’s recorded jail calls revealed that between March 13, 2024, and May 29, 2024, Rooks and the inmate had 96 conversations, often ending with romantic remarks like “I LOVE YOU.”

Charges & Legal Consequences
Rooks now faces charges of introducing contraband into a detention facility, a serious offense under Florida law.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine if further policy violations or additional contraband were involved.
