The Pahargaon Police have successfully cracked a gold jewellery theft case, arresting two individuals and recovering stolen ornaments worth over Rs1.5 lakh.
The theft, which occurred on February 4, 2025, involved the stealing of gold jewellery from a residence in Mahaveer Nagar. A complaint was filed at the Pahargaon Police Station, and a dedicated investigation team was formed, led by Inspector Mohd Elias, SHO, PS Pahargaon, with PSI Animesh Ram, HC Limbu, PC Rahul Kumar Maurya, and PC(D) Nuka Raju.
The police team quickly examined CCTV footage and gathered local intelligence, which led to the identification and arrest of Sajahan Sekh, a 37-year-old private worker originally from Hatpukuria, Bhaleya, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, who was residing near Barood Godown, Firing Range, Birdline. Upon his arrest, part of the stolen jewellery was found in his possession.
Further investigation revealed that Sajahan Sekh had purchased some of the stolen jewellery from Zakir Hossain, a 27-year-old private worker residing near Andaman Tour For You, Mahaveer Nagar. The police arrested Zakir Hossain and recovered the remaining stolen gold ornaments from him.
The case highlights the swift action and efficiency of the Pahargaon Police in solving the crime and returning the stolen property to its rightful owner.
