On Wednesday, February 5, the Anti-Narcotics Squad arrested two young men, P.K. Shahul Hameed (28) and P.P. Athul (28), in Kunnamangalam during a surprise inspection. The duo was found in possession of 28.13 grams of MDMA at a lodge, where they were reportedly planning to resell the smuggled drug, which they had brought from Bengaluru.
The police revealed that Hameed and Athul had been targeting schoolchildren and college students in the local areas of Kunnamangalam and Karanthur for their illegal activities. Both men have a history of previous arrests related to drug trafficking in Kozhikode district.
