ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – A man from Holly Hill wanted after a large-scale narcotics operation in Orangeburg County has been arrested.
Marcus Guest, 44, was apprehended after a significant methamphetamine bust, one of the largest in county history. Authorities said Guest faces multiple charges, including trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking cocaine, and distribution of methamphetamine.
“We arrived hoping to greet him with a Happy New Year, but he wasn’t quite in the mood,” said Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell. “He fled immediately when we got there.”
According to deputies, the operation led to Guest running into a nearby wooded area.
Two additional individuals, Drusilla Atherton, 55, of Summerton, and G-Ania Little, 27, of Holly Hill, were also arrested. They face numerous charges, including trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute Adderall, trafficking heroin, trafficking ecstasy, trafficking cocaine, and possession of controlled substances such as marijuana, Xanax, oxycodone, and hydrocodone.
Atherton was further charged with driving under suspension for the second time.
Sheriff Ravenell reported that authorities arrived at the scene while crack cocaine was in the process of being cooked. The operation was the result of a coordinated effort involving the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division, SWAT team, Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Team, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
