Oklahoma Man Terry Ross Killion Sentenced for Social Security Fraud

On January 31, 2025, Oklahoma resident Terry Ross Killion was sentenced to two years in federal prison for committing aggravated identity theft. Killion, 43, fraudulently used the personal information of his deceased friend, Kelly Davis, to collect Social Security benefits meant for Davis. Killion opened multiple accounts in Davis’s name and falsely posed as him in communications with the Social Security Administration (SSA).

Through this scheme, Killion diverted thousands of dollars in Social Security payments to himself. Federal authorities uncovered his actions, leading to criminal charges. U.S. District Judge John F. Heil, III, sentenced Killion to 24 months in prison, followed by one year of supervised release. Killion was also ordered to pay $116,763 in restitution for his fraudulent activities.

As Killion awaits transfer to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons, this case serves as a stark reminder of the severe consequences of identity theft and fraud.
