An Oklahoma City man, Anas Milbes, has been arrested for possessing a firearm and over 200 rounds of ammunition, alongside allegations of having stolen equipment valued at $250,000.
Milbes, who claims ownership of the property at 8701 North Kelley, stated he would return the equipment. The incident began on July 4, when police pulled him over near West Wilshire Blvd. and Broadway Extension due to multiple traffic violations. During the stop, officers discovered a camouflage Mossy Oak .22 caliber rifle equipped with a Weaver Scope and 207 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition. When questioned about the rifle, Milbes reportedly claimed he used it for shooting turtles.
Records indicated that Milbes is a convicted felon and is not permitted to possess firearms.
On July 26, police were called to Milbes’s property regarding stolen construction equipment identified by a representative from Sunbelt Rentals. It was reported that some of this equipment may have been listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace. A search warrant executed by officers uncovered seven items believed to be stolen, which were returned to Sunbelt Rentals, totaling over $250,000.
Milbes was arrested on multiple charges, including receiving, possessing, or concealing stolen property.
