The court heard that between February 2021 and January 2022, Mwandembo and Muthoni, knowing of their conflict of interest, facilitated the tender’s award to Beldavo Enterprises, owned by Belinda Wanzila Kyalo. Kyalo is also facing charges for submitting false documents to secure the contract.
In addition to the tender fraud, Kyalo is charged with the fraudulent acquisition of public property worth KSh23.9 million from NSSF. She is accused of using forged documents to claim the funds.
All three accused individuals denied the charges and were granted bail: KSh4 million in cash or KSh7 million bond. The case will be mentioned again on July 16, 2024.
