In its ongoing effort to combat the drug menace in the region, Srinagar Police has arrested a notorious drug peddler, Aqib Farooq Bhat, and seized a heroin-like substance from his possession. The arrest took place during a routine patrol on the Rawalpora-Peerbagh link road.
During the search, police recovered the contraband from Aqib Farooq Bhat, a resident of Nadirgund, Peerbagh Hyderpora. Bhat, who is known for his involvement in the drug trade, was apprehended after being intercepted by the police team. The substance recovered is suspected to be heroin.
A case under FIR No. 16/2025 has been registered at PS Sadder under the NDPS Act, and investigations are currently ongoing to further uncover the details of the drug racket.
