Nine Arrested in Connection with Kidnapping Over Rs4 Crore Investment Fraud

In a dramatic turn of events, nine individuals were arrested in connection with the kidnapping of Sheikh Suleiman Ali, a youth involved in defrauding approximately Rs4 crore from 150 investors in Khaja Sahi under Town Police Station on Thursday.

The arrested individuals include Sheikh Altaf (32) from Harsha Vihar, Khaja Sahi, Mohammad Sattar alias Imran (39) from Golia Sahi, and Syed Noor Muhammad (30) from the same area. Additionally, those involved in a scuffle over the matter, including Mansoor Bagh (41), Syed Ehsan, and Sheikh Azim (33), were also arrested.

The incident unfolded when Sheikh Suleiman Ali, a resident of Patra Peta Sahi, persuaded local investors in Khaja Sahi to invest in an online trading scheme, promising high returns. Around 150 individuals collectively invested Rs4 crore in the venture. However, when the promised returns failed to materialize, a group of youths allegedly kidnapped Ali, first on a bike and then in a car.

After receiving a tip-off, Town Police launched a swift rescue operation and successfully freed Ali from Digapahandi. Initially, three individuals were arrested in connection with the kidnapping. However, things escalated when a scuffle broke out between the two groups involved, each demanding the return of their invested money, resulting in the arrest of six more individuals.

The investigation is ongoing as police continue to work towards recovering the stolen funds and resolving the case.
