Nigerian Navy Officer, Abdul Rasheed Muhammad, Arrested for Murder of Aminu Ibrahim
Abdul Rasheed Muhammad, a serving Nigerian Navy personnel, has been arrested in connection with the murder of Aminu Ibrahim, the son of retired Vice Admiral I. I. Ibrahim, former Chief of Naval Staff. The tragic incident occurred two weeks ago in the Maitama area of Abuja, where Aminu was killed, and his Prado SUV was stolen.
At a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, the Federal Capital Territory Commissioner of Police, Bennett Igweh, confirmed the arrest. He stated that Muhammad had confessed to the crime, which involved both the murder and the theft of the vehicle. The police have since recovered the stolen car.
This case has attracted significant attention due to the involvement of a serving military officer in the crime, as well as the victim’s notable family background. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to gather details about the crime.
